The Mission- Balmy Alley, San Francisco.

Our Art Junket mural expert, Kaitlin Strange, guided us through the history, process, and techniques used in creating the Mission’s famous artworks.  Katie, an intern for Precita Eyes, was one of the artists who painted some of the murals in San Francisco. Katie wrote her Master thesis on the murals of San Francisco.   She has an intimate understanding of San Francisco murals and how they are created.

Provocative Photography

Photography has the ability to influence world politics and public opinion.  I took the photo below three weeks ago, the day after the Trump inauguration.  I marched with my husband, my two daughters, and their families and friends down the streets of Oakland to not only say we support women’s rights, but to advise the Trump administration and the Republican Congress that,  “We will not go quietly into the night,” to paraphrase Dylan Thomas.

At the crossroads of History and Photography, this exhibit is right up Maureen’s alley. Come and enjoy a unique experience of being guided through the works of Roman Vishniac, a social documentarian known for his record of Jewish life in Eastern Europe between the two World Wars.

In this tour, Maureen combines her story telling skills and her knowledge of aesthetics to bring this collection to life.  This exhibit ends soon! Don’t miss this once in a lifetime opportunity.
